Social Media in Language Teaching.

Social media has a tremendous impact in our lives today. We can´t deny that most of our free  time is devoted to check our personal pages. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc , have become in our information providers every single day. Now, if we are almost "addict" to them, why not using them while teaching our lessons? Remember that if we love these applications, our students love them even more, so they will be happy to do their homework, or to study their lesson through them.

Does it sounds crazy? Well, it is not. I want to show you some interesting ways of using
just one of them: Twitter. Yes, the small blue bird can help you a lot.
Let´s see.
Ways of using twitter as a tool to teach a language:

#Summarize
#Parents
#Twitter Poll
#Come together
#Live feed
#Communicate with experts
#Scavenger Hunt
#Students report current event
#Multi-media class newspaper

Do these #s sound interesting?
Well, you must read the following article and You´ll be convinced of twitter power!

  2. Berta, I agree with you. Social Media is such a powerful tool that we have to use it. It is an easy way to catch our students' attention and make them read and write. The best way is that they can find topics of their preferences and feel free to express themselves.
I try to mention the impact of social media in our live, and I tell my students to use it. I made some suggestions about the accounts that they can follow in order to learn more. I am trying it so I hope to get good results soon.
